ADA Accessibility Policy

We are committed to making our services and website accessible to everyone. Our team is continually improving the site so it's easier for people with disabilities to use, and we make every effort to meet evolving accessibility standards, including those set out in 36 CFR Parts 1193 and 1194.

We strive to follow the W3C's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 Level AA (WCAG 2.1 AA) and EN 301 549 to the best of our ability. The improvements below give a sense of the work that is ongoing across our website.

Every page is tagged with language information so it's compatible with assistive systems including screen readers and Braille translators. We're also working on adding sign-language interpretation and prerecorded audio as alternatives to text content where appropriate.

We use descriptive labels, headings, and titles throughout the site so it's easier to find what you're looking for with fewer keystrokes.

We add meaningful alt text to images so visitors using screen readers can still get the information. We're working toward having a corresponding text description for every page image so the content is accessible whether or not images load — and so users don't have to distinguish among colors to find information.

We've improved keyboard navigation across the site so you can reach interactive elements without a mouse, and we'll keep refining it.

We're making it easier to adjust text size, font, and line spacing. Large-scale text and images of text are designed for a contrast ratio of at least 3:1, and a zoom feature is available for moments when you need images even larger.

We provide easy-to-find controls for prerecorded audio and video content.

Some pages may not conform fully to existing accessibility standards where supporting tooling does not yet exist, especially for third-party content. We're working to bring those pages into line with current guidelines.

We work with a dedicated web accessibility partner to update our website, integrate new tooling, and continue making the experience easier for everyone.

We believe access to information should not be limited by physical ability. Our work to improve accessibility is ongoing, and we'll keep evolving the site to match the latest standards.
